Archives - July 2018

Stuff I did in Utah in July - cause other parts of July we were in Texas and New York.

Summer hiking is just the best, especially in the Cottonwoods.

Work was slowing down quite a bit - the impeding layoff growing closer. I spent a lot of the summer going on long lunch dates with friends, some for fun, and some to keep up with what my friends were doing at work and if I'd maybe want to join them eventually. I finally made it to Block on one of these lunch dates with Erin.

The girls got a swimming pool - that's about the only thing I long for in the summer.

Fourth of July! A Wednesday, so Anthony was at work. I made plans with Meghan and Shannon to do some kayaking, so we drove out to Smith & Morehouse reservoir. And surprise, Adam and Dana and Shelly and Tyler were there too! Hooray! We had lots of kayaks and paddleboards to play with.

Blow up kayaks are the way to go. They roll up so small! Adding that to my wishlist for someday.

Utah is so pretty.

More Ogden Twilight somewhere in here with Thievery Corporation - takes me back to my DC days.

As you saw in my last post, I had some blood work done, trying to figure out some stuff going on with my heart rate. I probably have a mild case of POTS - I'd never heard of it, but I did a simple test leaning against a wall for 10 minutes, and my stats changed enough to be in line with this diagnosis. It's not too bad for me, but doc says I can eat tons of sodium to keep my blood pressure up!

My grandma figured out Marco Polo. It's adorable.

Anthony's high school buddies had a summer reunion barbecue. We ate in someone's backyard and then headed off to their old secret hiding place in the woods.

They had carved their names or something into a rock - still there.

Rain!

Wye Oak! They are so good, and I just love Jenn Wasner.

Sunday baking.

I went with Brooklyn (my 11-year-old sister-in-law!) to her gymnastics banquet since her parents had something else going on. We had dinner with the team and a swim party, then we got Bahama Bucks after.

For some reason I decided to jump on some new perfume. I love this scent.

Back to Pretty Bird. Summer lunch with Dianne.

Anthony's dad caught a bunch of fish in Alaska and brought home some for us. We had many fish taco nights.

Anthony's parents also have a boat, so we went to East Canyon Reservoir one day after work.

Little stop in Morgan on the way home.

One of the best summer events - Demo Derby in Heber! I'm always so glad Tara puts a group together and snags tickets for us.

More coming up on Austin and NYC...
