I found several good things within Arizona during the month though; one was the Chihuly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Gardens. I’d had plans to go for months and kept missing out for one reason or another. The exhibit was about to close at the end of the month, so I had to get there!
I’d heard the best time to arrive was around 6pm – time to see the colored glass in the sun, then enjoy the sunset and the glass light at night. Sadly, I could only get a last-minute ticket for the noon to 4pm timeslot on a Saturday and hope that they’d let me in at 6. When you go with someone who paid to be a member of the Gardens, yes, that does indeed work. And sure enough, it was amazing.
